To be honest, I'm not really a big fan of Mario games in the 3D setting. The Galaxy games kind of bored me which also holds true for 3D Land to the 3DS. But with all that said, I still hold Super Mario 64 as one of the best games ever conceived. It's a mix of equal parts nostalgia, gameplay and how totally maxed out it's been by modders and speedrunners. It's like the surprises, imagination and love knows no boundaries to this title. For those that can't wait for Marios next big adventure, Super Mario Odyssey for the Switch, will probably find some joy in this mod. Everything looks as usual, until the classical Mario hat begins to fly left and right, letting the player take over certain enemies.How about some craziness without having to take drugs? Super Mario 64: Chaos Edition is the answer for that urge. A mod that randomly wreaks chaos in any way it sees fit, and does so all the time. In this mod you'll have to be ready for just about everything and anything.Perhaps not the most ambitious mod of them all, but someone still took the time to make Mario being able to run around in the Kokiri-forest. After a while everything just goes crazy in this mod though, check it out if your a Zelda and Mario fan!And if Zelda gets a spot then of course Sonic wants one to. This time the plumber has left room for the quick hedgehog, and it's full speed ahead in this mod with classical golden rings instead of coins to make Sonic feel just at home.There are countless different mods for Super Mario 64 and that fact, if anything, shows how many dedicated fans there are out there for this title, even in today's modern era. And personally I appreciate the creativity to the max, even if it doesn't always come out perfectly.
