Pros: mechanical keys, durable USB cable
Cons: Driver installation too complicated. RAZER needs a reality check as to what exactly 'PLUG AND PLAY' is.
Needs IT/Computer TECH level knowledge to reduce hours of frustration installing software drivers and getting to work correctly.
Overall Review: I was not able to get my computer to recognize keyboard as other than generic, which means no macro ability. I am a quite knowledgeable DIYer computer nerd (no formal tech education) and I tried for at least 32 hours from Friday after work to Sunday to get RAZER's software to work. Went through RAZER support pages (wasn't able to get anything happening from live or email correspondence), FAQ's, and self-help tech sites till I was cross-eyed. The only thing I wasn't willing to try was a total wipe and reinstall of my OS that's way too much work backing up everything on my computer and then spend hours updating windows, sound cards, video cards, etc just for a mechanical keyboard that was bought for its macro generating abilities. I went to a local store and bought a Logitech G105 for $20 USD, plugged it in, downloaded Logitech software, restarted my computer, and it works and makes macros just no mechanical keys.
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Color Change Mod
Pros: Amazingly sturdy great working keyboard well worth the money, have spilled water, beer, water, beer in the keyboard many times while plugged in - let it sit upside down overnight works like new the next day. XD XD this gets used hard and never stops responding
Cons: Nothing
Overall Review: I would recommend anyone buy this keyboard excellent keys and you cant break it
Pros: The best features are, obviously, the backlighting, the USB and audio ports on the right-hand side. These make for convenient etc...
Cons: Well, let me just put it this way: in twenty five years of computing I never had a keyboard that double-typed or selectively shifted whenever it wanted to.
Examples: I press and hold-down shift, then press 'ZZZ' but the keyboard produced 'ZzZ'.
Another Example: typed 'Hi there' and it produced ' Hii therre'
Even a $10 keyboard from bigbox can at least reproduce what the user types. This above all else should be the main goal, so this product is a total failure. I purchased two of these, kept one and gave the other away as a gift. My friend reported almost immediately that it was double-typing sometimes. He RMA-ed and I never heard what happened. I moved across three states and didn't get to use the keyboard until a year later, after the warranty expired even though it was totally new and still in the box. Of course this unit was bad also. <sarcasm> Great quality control </sarcasm>. Hopeless to try and get a replacement I suppose, so I'll just chop it up in the garden with an axe. Never again, RAZER, never again.
Pros: looks nice .
Cons: this is my second review because I own two of these: both keyboards ended up with the same issue. the 'N' keys start to produce two 'N'.s after some use. I called their tech support and got the run around about having to install some software and run test and this and that. in the end i never got a good keyboard. too much red tape to bother with. BOTH of my black widow keyboards produce the exact same issue. BOTH OF THEM... whats the odds right ?? its a defect in their product is what it is.
Overall Review: pass on this keyboard if u want to avoid dealing with an rma and technical support red tape to get the RMA. i have to buy new keyboards because they are out of warranty.
Pros: Solid construction. Great features like macro keys, volume controls, USB and headset plugs, etc.
Cons: Very loud compared to a non-mechanical keyboard - you are warned. (I don't know how it compares to other mechanical keyboards.) They tried to make the font futuristic, but it's just hard to read. Some of the keys have 'paint' instead of 'LEDs' for some of the writing - for example, the '5' is LED-lit, but the '%' on the same key is not - this can make it hard to use if you're in a dark room and don't remember offhand which key is for which character.
Overall Review: I knew it would be loud, but this is nuts! It's fine for me because I live alone, but don't expect anyone to sleep in an adjacent room. Definitely do not get in an office setting.
Pros: Simple and easy setup, basically plug and play.
Wonderful typing experience
Wonderful typing sound ( Audible clicks )
Decent lighting features
Fully programmable keys
Cons: None
Overall Review: Coming from using $10 membrane keyboards from local supermarkets all my life and going to this beautiful piece of equipment was quite different at first. The key spacing was a little bit odd for me, causing me to hit different keys when trying to type, but after about 10 minutes of typing and using the keyboard, everything was smooth sailing. Wonderful product.
Pros: I really like my Razer keyboard. Works great for gaming. I also use it for my business and do lots of typing with it. Works great!
Cons: None
Overall Review: I would definitely recommend the RAZER Blackwidow Ultimate Gaming Elite Mechanical Keyboard.
Pros: This was the first mechanical keyboard I have ever owned. Typing is an absolute pleasure and I have never once wanted to go back to a cheaper keyboard. I have now had this keyboard for over 3 years and it works flawlessly and it probably will for quite some time. The only reason I would ever buy another keyboard would be to upgrade to the Chroma which simply has more colors and features.
Pros -
Comfortable to type
Mechanical sound
LEDs are as bright as you want or as dim as you want. Very pleasant to look at.
Synapse is a very simple program for setting up any macros you want and you can change them up on the fly. Really it's great for any game.
Good quality overall, this keyboard has some weight to it so it doesn't slide around it can stand a beating. I have a toddler who likes to come up and smack my keys when I am not home and has even spilled a drink on it once. You can remove almost all keys easily to clean underneath. as a result there is one key that would stick slightly for awhile but after use it got better. (Not quite sure how).
Cons: I legitimately have no cons about this item.
Overall Review: I would strongly suggest if you are interested in a mechanical keyboard you spend the extra few bucks this keyboard may cost you and just do it. You will not for a second think that you may have wasted money.
